Failed to clone the repository in GitHub

Abend,
ich habe ein Schulprojekt lokal auf meinem Rechner erstellt, wollte es nun auf Github hochladen.
1. Um die Daten zu sichern, 2. um das Projekt auf meinen Laptop zu ziehen (den ich dann mit in die Schule nehmen kann).

Das Hochladen funktioniert auch, nur das Runterladen nicht mehr.

Die Fehlermeldung erscheint:

Leider kenn ich mich mit Git noch quasi so gut wie gar nicht aus.

Natürlich sehe ich die ErrorMeldungen in der LogDatei, aber viel sagen die mir leider nicht.

Wirf den Github-Client weg, installier dir den richtigen Git-Client und Tortoise-Git und dann verwalte dein Github-Repo damit. Ich konnte das Repo jedenfalls problemlos damit auschecken.
Laut dem Log findet der Github-Client das Portable-Git nicht und kann deswegen auch nichts ausführen.

Ja, von der Seite kann ich das Repo auch problemlos runterladen...

Möglicherweise kann man nicht gleichzeitig am PC und am Laptop eingeloggt sein (wegen der LoginMeldung). Aber das kann ich mir nicht vorstellen.

Das hat damit nichts zu tun. In der Fehlermeldung steht doch das Problem:

Ich habe das Repo übrigens nicht 'runtergeladen', sondern mit Tortoise-Git gecloned.

Nicht ganz, ich habe schließlich zwei Sachen verlinkt. Man braucht aber beide. "Effektiv nutzbar" ist dann nur Tortoise. Tortoise benötigt nämlich das andere.

Das ist richtig. Aber er wollte sich beides angucken als wären es alternativen. Klar kann er Git auch ohne Tortoise nutzen aber es klang für mich so als würde er beides für gleichwertige Alternativen halten. Und das ist ja nun mal nicht der Fall.
